On 21 April, VNUHCM鈥揢niversity of Science (HCMUS) welcomed a delegation from City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) to discuss collaborative prospects in postgraduate education and scientific research.

During the session, representatives from CityUHK faculties provided a comprehensive overview of the postgraduate system, scholarship programmes, and primary research priorities. The developmental strategy at CityUHK is built upon an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on fields such as fundamental sciences, data science, artificial intelligence, materials science, energy, and the environment. These areas demonstrate high compatibility with the existing training and research capacities of HCMUS.

Both institutions deliberated on specific collaborative opportunities, including the organisation of short-term exchange programmes, the implementation of hybrid workshops and seminars, faculty and student exchanges, joint doctoral supervision, the development of joint postgraduate curricula, and the initiation of collaborative research projects. Consequently, initial cooperative frameworks were established to leverage academic strengths and address the developmental needs of each party.

Addressing the meeting, Associate Professor Tr岷 L锚 Quan, President of HCMUS, emphasised that expanding connections with institutions possessing a strong interdisciplinary focus like CityUHK not only creates further opportunities for students to study and conduct research but also facilitates the formation of joint research groups. Representing HCMUS was Professor Ng么 膼岷 Nghi峄噋, Head of the External Relations Office. The Kyushu University delegation included Ms Ito Kazuko from the International Students Exchange Division, International Affairs Department, and Ms Nguyen Thanh Thuy, representing the Kyushu University Office in Ha Noi, 水果派AV解说.

During the meeting, both institutions presented overviews of their respective developmental histories, educational strengths, and research priorities. The HCMUS representatives shared insights into current degree programmes, scientific research activities, and the university’s expanding international partnership networks. The meeting focused on exchanging strategic directions for cooperation in education, research, and academic exchange programmes between the two institutions in the coming period.

The TTI delegation included Professor Masamichi Yoshimura from the Graduate School of Engineering and Ms Yumiko Minoura from the International Relations Office. Representing HCMUS were Professor Tr岷 Th峄� Thanh V芒n, Head of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology; Associate Professor Nguy峄卬 Tuy岷縯 Ph瓢啤ng, Head of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences; Dr Nguy峄卬 Ph瓢峄沜 Trung H貌a, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology; and Dr T峄憂g Ho脿ng Tu岷, International Relations Coordinator of the Faculty.

During the session, both parties discussed plans for a forthcoming visit by an HCMUS delegation to TTI. This visit is expected to provide HCMUS lecturers and researchers with direct access to advanced research facilities, particularly the laboratory systems and cleanrooms dedicated to semiconductor training and research at TTI.

Furthermore, specific contents regarding educational cooperation and academic exchange were deliberated. Both institutions proposed the implementation of annual internship programmes at TTI for third- and fourth-year HCMUS students, lasting approximately three months. Additionally, short-term academic and cultural exchange programmes of two to three days for undergraduate and postgraduate students were considered as a means to strengthen connections between the student bodies of the two universities.

At the research level, the two sides discussed the possibility of establishing long-term collaborative programmes for Master鈥檚 and PhD students, ranging from nine months to one year. These initiatives aim to enable students to participate directly in research groups at TTI, thereby enhancing research capacity and expanding international scientific cooperation networks.

On this occasion, representatives from HCMUS also introduced and invited scientists from the Toyota Technological Institute to participate in the International Scientific Conference hosted by the University, scheduled for November 2026. Simultaneously, the HCMUS Visiting Professor programme was presented as a collaborative channel to attract international scholars to engage in teaching, research, and academic exchange at the University.

On 4 February 2026, VNUHCM鈥揢niversity of Science (HCMUS) hosted a working session with a delegation from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Engineering, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan.

Representing the College of Engineering, NYCU, the delegation included: Prof. Albert T. Yeung, Director of International Affairs; Prof. Hong-Cheu Lin, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering; Prof. Cheng-Sheng Huang, Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Cao Minh T煤, Department of Civil Engineering; Mr Danh La 膼峄ヽ Thanh, a doctoral candidate at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering; and Ms Judy Huang, International Affairs Administrator.

The HCMUS representatives comprised Assoc. Prof. V玫 H峄搉g H岷, Deputy Head of the External Relations Office; Prof. Tr岷 Th峄� Thanh V芒n, Dean of the Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, alongside faculty members and students; and Assoc. Prof. V玫 Qu峄慶 Kh瓢啤ng from the Faculty of Chemistry.

During the formal session, both institutions focused on strategic cooperation in education, scientific research, and academic exchange. The NYCU delegation provided an overview of academic programmes, research strengths, and the campus environment. Notably, the delegation detailed the BenQ Materials Scholarship鈥攁 dedicated fund for postgraduate students in Materials Science and Engineering at NYCU. This scholarship offers a monthly stipend of 20,000 TWD for approximately two years, coupled with career opportunities at the BenQ Materials Corporation in Taiwan or the branch offices in 水果派AV解说. The programme targets candidates with research backgrounds in biomedical materials and sensors, semiconductor manufacturing, polymer composites, and related fields such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering.

On 2 February 2026, at the Nguyen Van Cu Campus, VNUHCM鈥揢niversity of Science (HCMUS), the Faculty of Geology hosted a working session with distinguished professors from National Taiwan University (NTU) and National Dong Hwa University (NDHU). The meeting aimed to discuss collaborative directions for education and scientific research within the field of Earth Sciences.

The delegation from the Taiwanese universities included Professor Ching-Hua Lo, former Executive Vice President of National Taiwan University (NTU鈥攁 world top 100 institution) and an expert in Earth Sciences, and Professor Wen-Yen Chang, Executive Vice President of National Dong Hwa University (NDHU), who also serves as the Director of the Industrial Innovation鈥揑ncubation Centre and the Eastern Taiwan Earthquake Research Centre.

Representing HCMUS were Assoc. Prof. Ph岷 Trung Hi岷縰, Dean of the Faculty of Geology; Assoc. Prof. V玫 H峄搉g H岷, Deputy Head of the External Relations Office; Assoc. Prof. L锚 V膬n Anh C瓢峄漬g, Head of the Department of Geophysics (Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics); and various lecturers from the Faculty of Geology.

During the session, the parties provided comprehensive introductions to their respective institutions, curricula, research priorities, and partnership networks. Discussions focused on potential collaboration in research and the exchange of academic staff and students in the fields of Land Economics, Geology and Geological Hazards, and Applied Geophysics. Furthermore, the participants deliberated on the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NDHU and the prospects of establishing a formal MoU with NTU.

As part of the programme, the Taiwanese professors visited the Geological Specimen Showroom and the Department of Geophysics (Faculty of Physics – Engineering Physics). This visit provided further insight into the teaching activities, research initiatives, and facilities dedicated to Earth Sciences at HCMUS.

On 28 January 2026, VNUHCM鈥揢niversity of Science (HCMUS) received and held a formal meeting with Mr Takao Hisano, Executive Director and representative of the Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Foundation (Japan). The visit aimed to introduce scholarship opportunities for Vietnamese students aspiring to pursue Master鈥檚 degrees in Japan.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Ng么 膼岷 Nghi峄噋, Head of the External Relations Office at HCMUS. Attendees included Ms H峄� Th峄� L峄� Thu峄�, a lecturer from the Faculty of Japanese Studies at VNUHCM鈥揢niversity of Social Sciences and Humanities, whose department has collaborated with the Okazaki Foundation for many years in coordinating and promoting scholarship information within 水果派AV解说. Personnel from the HCMUS External Relations Office and students interested in postgraduate opportunities in Japan also participated in the session.

During the proceedings, Mr Takao Hisano provided an overview of the Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Foundation. Established in 1990, the Foundation seeks to foster peace and global development by supporting the cultivation of high-quality human resources across Asian nations, whilst enhancing international exchange and mutual understanding.

According to the presentation, the Okazaki Scholarship focuses on supporting candidates for Master鈥檚 programmes at Japanese universities. The funding period extends up to three years, including an initial year of Japanese language training. The selection process is conducted directly in the candidate鈥檚 home country, with successful applicants receiving support for living expenses and accommodation in accordance with Foundation regulations. To date, the Foundation has awarded scholarships to 152 Asian students, including 16 from 水果派AV解说.

 

The representative from the Okazaki Foundation and Ms H峄� Th峄� L峄� Thu峄� also shared insights into the outcomes of long-standing collaborations with member universities of the 水果派AV解说 National University Ho Chi Minh City, notably HCMUS and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Through these networking and introductory activities, numerous students from both universities have successfully applied for and completed postgraduate studies in Japan, thereby strengthening academic ties and human resource exchange between Viet nam and Japan.

On 13 November, VNUHCM-University of Science (HCMUS) welcomed a delegation of representatives from Qualcomm 水果派AV解说 for an open discussion concerning technology trends and innovative activities in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and microchips, as well as potential areas for cooperation between the two parties.

The meeting was attended by Mr Ramesh Rao鈥擲enior Director of Engineering; Mr L锚 V膬n Khanh鈥擲enior Engineer; and Ms Nguy峄卬 Thanh Th岷鈥擝usiness Development Team Lead for Qualcomm 水果派AV解说. Representing HCMUS were Assoc. Prof. Tr岷 Minh Tri岷縯鈥擵ice President; Assoc. Prof. Ng么 膼岷 Nghi峄噋鈥擧ead of the External Relations Office; Dr 膼岷穘g L锚 Khoa鈥擵ice Dean of the Faculty of Electronics 鈥� Telecommunications; along with lecturers, researchers, and numerous students interested in new technology fields.

Speaking at the session, Assoc. Prof. Tr岷 Minh Tri岷縯 presented an overview of the University鈥檚 education and research capabilities. The Vice President emphasised a desire to expand cooperation with Qualcomm to enable students and lecturers to access advanced technology, thereby promoting applied research programmes and innovation.

In the specialist sharing session, Qualcomm representatives presented the Corporation鈥檚 prominent technology platforms. The Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB2210 processor鈥攁n energy-optimised solution for robotics and industrial IoT applications鈥攚as deemed suitable for the academic environment as a strong support for experimental research and the development of automation models. Furthermore, the Qualcomm AI Hub platform was introduced as a tool to help research groups deploy AI models directly onto devices. The platform helps reduce testing time, optimise performance, and expand AI applications in both training and technology practice.

Qualcomm also introduced the Qualcomm 水果派AV解说 Innovation Challenge (QVIC)鈥攁 national-scale technology start-up playground for research groups and start-ups in the fields of AI, IoT, 5G, robotics, and smart cities. The programme offers opportunities to receive product development funding, technical mentoring, intellectual property support, and connections with international businesses. The discussion confirmed several points of convergence in the development strategies of VNUHCM-University of Science and Qualcomm, especially in the education, training and application of AI, IoT technology, microchip design, and technology transfer. Both sides assessed the potential for deep cooperation in the near future, including supporting research, developing applied laboratories, organising technical seminars, and internship programmes.

Between 30 September and 9 October, Assoc. Prof. Ph岷 Trung Hi岷縰, Dean of the Faculty of Geology, VNUHCM鈥揢niversity of Science (HCMUS), undertook an official working visit to the NAWI Graz Geocenter 鈥� Institute of Earth Sciences at the University of Graz, Austria. This engagement, convened at the invitation of Professor Christoph A. Hauzenberger, Dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences, established novel avenues for scientific cooperation and academic exchange between the two institutions.

During the tenure of the visit, Assoc. Prof. Ph岷 Trung Hi岷縰 and Professor Hauzenberger deliberated on potential spheres of cooperation. A series of in-depth meetings resulted in a consensus regarding long-term collaboration, particularly the continuation of the project titled ‘Permian鈥揟riassic magmatism in Southeast Asia: a comparison between the Eastern Granitoid Belt, Thailand and the Western Kontum Massif, 水果派AV解说,’聽funded by the ASEA-Uninet (OEAD) programme.

In addition to administrative meetings, Assoc. Prof. Ph岷 Trung Hi岷縰 participated in a field survey alongside Graz-based scientists and students in the western region of Graz, within the Paleozoic of the Graz Nappe Complex. The expedition concentrated on high-grade metamorphic formations, including eclogite, garnet鈥搒taurolite gneiss, amphibolite, and marble, as well as lithium pegmatite outcrops (Li-Cs-Ta) situated in proximity to one of the major lithium deposits in Europe鈥攁 resource of strategic importance for clean energy and sustainable development.
