On 19th November 2022, the VNUHCM-University of Sciences, along with the Alumni Community Interim Representative Board, successfully organised 1st Conference of the Science Alumni Community’, which brought together hundreds of alumni from various generations. The Congress unanimously elected the Official Representative Board of the Science Alumni Community for the term 2022-2025, as well as the regulations concerning the organisation and operations of the Representative Board.

Having established and developed over more than 80 years through various historical periods in the country, the VNUHCM-University of Sciences aimed to become a leading university in ˮ����AV��˵ and Southeast Asia in terms of training, scientific research, foundational technology of the knowledge economy, and the digital economy. The University’s reputation and academic standing had been confirmed by its accomplishments in education, scientific research, and the success of generations of alumni across diverse fields.

With the intention of fostering connections, exchanges, and cooperation between the Alumni Community and the University as well as among the Alumni Community itself, the Interim Representative Board, along with the Science Alumni Community Honorary Representative Board, was officially established on 14th August 2022. After three months of operation, and with support from various units within the University, the Interim Representative Board made its initial progress towards cultivating a robust alumni community that directly contributes to the development of both the University and the wider community.

The Conference of the Science Alumni Community 2022 proved to be a significant event for the University’s Alumni, marking a solid foundation for a new phase of development within the Faculty’s Alumni Community. During its first term, the Alumni Representative Board intended to implement five action programmes, encompassing Connection, Contribution, Support, Cooperation, and Brand Development.

The overarching goal of the Science Alumni Community was to help build the ‘University of Science’ brand, establish practical activities for the entire alumni community, current students, and the University, and thereby reinforce the University’s strategy of ‘Self-Reliance’ sustainably in the long term. This involved promoting cooperation in training, research, and the transmission of science and technology, thereby generating beneficial values for the community and society.
